Back in one piece

Got back last night from Jasper/Mount Robson trip. It was awesome. The drive there went off without a hitch, 8 hours of sleep laugh sleep laugh eat sleep... We got to Jasper and all went out to dinner. The restaurant was sweaty and hot, I don't like to sweat when I eat. It's not very "lady like". Tried to go to bed that night at like 9 to get ready for the next day but it wasn't going to happen, Sol had too many stories he needed to share with us, every bit entertaining. Got up the day of the hike at 445am, left at 515am. The best conversation that morning:

Shaheen: "Are we going for breakfast?"
People in car: "uhhh no"
Shaheen: "OMG really? All I brought was a granola bar"
People in car: "Wow you're screwed"

Anyways everyone made it to the top. We were greeted by a barely melted glacier lake. Some of us took a dip, even me. I took a picture to prove it. Once we were done relaxing we headed back down. At this point some of us couldn't fill our water bottles back up because Andrew's water filter broke. Dave and I got so desperate for water that we stole some out of some random water bottle on a bike we came across. We even drank out of the creek, Dave's reasoning was "I've already been sick this week I think I'm immune". The walk down went by super quick except for the last 6km, someone had a little cry at the 6km mark, hahahahaha. I made it out with only blisters between some of my toes, sore hips and a tender bottom but still in good spirits. That night was pretty tame for me at least, I was a zombie at dinner. But we got to have dinner outside on the Earl's patio, I love eating outside in the summer, it was nice and warm.

The next day we took our time and left around 11. At this point my nerves must have been shot because I thought I was going to die on the car ride home at least 3 times and everyone got to see me freak out at something only I could see.

"Only the blood curdling screams of Valerie can make a 10 year old Nissan's speed go 130-40-130 in 5 seconds".

This proves that on some car rides I should be heavily sedated or at the least tied up in the trunk. All in all it was an awesome trip and I think everyone enjoyed themselves.
