Alright I had some dinner out in San Jose and I have some free time so let's see if I can capture what has happened in the last week.
Day One
Dean, Harry and I board a plane to Houston, Texas. Land. Alright board a plane to San Jose. Land. One more time, board a plane to Tambor. Land....hold on where is the landing strip? All I see is beach! The landing strip I kid you not is 10 feet wide across the beach and just goes staright into the jungle, crazy. Land. Almost there. Get into a cab with a man named Thomas from Vancouver, older guy who has lived in Santa Teresa for 20 years. He has long blond curly hair and of course he surfs. We finally get to the hotel, it is lovely and everything I was expecting. Leslie and Amanda meet up with us and we head to the beach, did you know the sun goes down at like 6 here. We end the night with some delicious pizza and I kid you not this place is the Fort Mcmurray of the south, boys everywhere.
Day Two
It's a gorgeous day and we decided to take advantage of this by renting atv's. We get to the rental place and are greeted by a felow named Josh. Josh is a man from Florida, Josh has 300 moles, Josh has had too much fun at a few to many full moon parties. He is slow, he is from Florida, he is probably legally mentally retarded. Here are a few choice quotes from Josh;
Leslie: looking at the business cards "Are you Pepe?"
Josh: " No I am Josh, I've been working here for 7 years but my name isn't on the card, Pepe has been working here for 3 months"
Josh: looking at his dirt bike "It's so awesome I put a dragon on it...and this is where I put my surf board"
Josh: explaining the contract "read the contract if you want but it's in spanish, I can't read spanish but it basically says you are liable for everything"
This guy is a piece of work I tell ya. Anyways we get the atv's and head out. We ride throught the jungle on this crazy dirt road, it was so much fun. We spent the day going to Cabo Blanco which is a nature reserve, we saw monkeys and not a whole lot else. It's like a zoo everything is hidden and asleep when it's 35 degrees out. We did see a few huge spiders and one bat. We also rode out to Montezuma and had lunch, this place is much too touristy, people just want to sell you crap and we bought some of that over priced crap, every time I look at my wrist I will be reminded. We rode back and this time speeded through all the puddles, my wolf shirt may never recover, that's right there is a wolf on my shirt didn't you know. We ended the day with hot dogs at Leslie and Amanda's, who buys hot dogs in a foreign country?
