CR: Part Deux

Alright so I think I forgot some important details in the first post. These are details that preceeded the trip and are of some importance:

-Leslie emailed me 24hrs before my trip to let me know she got robbed for $300, her Ray-Bans, her flip flops and her hotel key at the resort we were staying at.

-I got strep throat symptoms the day before we left which luckily gave me ample time to get some pills.

-Harry gets the news the day before we leave that he has gallstones.

Day three

It's day three and we still have the atv's, we head out early as our plan is to take a boat out to Isla Tortuga. We must again ride through the jungle to Montezuma. We hang for a bit and then get on a boat off to Tortuga. On our way we stop to see some hump back whales, we sit there for a while, and a while and a while. Finally the whale salutes us with his magestic tale, we ooo and ahhhh and we are off. We first stop over at the island to drop off our lunch that the tour guides will be preparing for us when Leslie and Amanda pipe up and say they would like to get off. The guides seemed confused, "get off but why we are going snorkeling". The girls don't want to come snorkeling and this seems to confuse the crap out of them. The girls get off the boat and we are off for some snorkeling, it was lovely, we saw fish. Moving on. We spent the rest of the day on the island sunbathing, eating pink marlin (did you know that existed) and hanging with a "wild" boar we named Pumba. At the end of the afternoon we pack up and we head back to Montezuma only this time to stop and see some dolphins (right on cue), it was cool, they did some dips and dives and we were sincerly impressed. Back in Montezuma we were ready to head back through the jungle, the lock to our atv's of course did not work, it was sealed shut. It took us 40 minutes, an agrevating call to Josh and some nice locals to get it open. This was Leslie and Amanda's last night so we went out to a lovely fish place, I have to say everything we have eaten here so far has been soooo good. The waitress forgot to order my food but it was ok because everyone had ordered so much, the problem was that she didn't believe me when I said it was ok. She appologized several times but she really didn't understand that we were actually relieved. Another fine day in Santa Teresa.

Day Four

Today Leslie and Amanda are leaving, they left early but not before leaving me with shoes which I can only assume they were dumping on me because they couldn't or didn't want to fit them in their luggage. Today Dean and I decided to go out for a swim. We found a pretty sweet spot, the beach is exactly like in the pictures on the web. The surf is pretty rough and you get beat up pretty bad by the waves but it's so much fun. The water is rediculously salty which makes it ideal for floating around. We must have spent a few hours there until we decided to head back. The rest of the day was pretty lazy since it rained for the remainder of the day. We sat on the hammocks and read till the sun went down, drank margaritas and went out for another lovely dinner. Do you know what loro (sp?) fish is, it's delicious battered in coconut.
